Major Funding Round For Nutrition Growth

Indian nutrition brand TruNativ has secured $30 million in a Series B funding round led by global healthcare investor OrbiMed Advisors.

The funding includes a mix of primary capital and secondary share sales. Existing investors including 100Unicorns, Rainmatter, and Venture Catalysts exited the company through the transaction.

The latest investment marks a significant milestone for the Mumbai based startup as it looks to accelerate growth across consumer nutrition and healthcare focused products.

Why This News Matters

Consumer awareness around nutrition is rising rapidly across India.

Growing concerns around protein deficiency, excessive sugar consumption, digestive health, and preventive wellness are creating strong demand for healthier alternatives.

Investors are increasingly viewing nutrition not as a lifestyle category but as an important component of long term healthcare outcomes.

TruNativ’s funding reflects this shift.

What TruNativ Does

Founded in 2019 by Pranav and Mamta Malhotra, TruNativ develops clean label nutrition products across multiple categories.

Its portfolio includes protein products, sugar alternatives, gut health solutions, collagen supplements, water soluble fibre products, and wellness focused nutrition offerings.

The company focuses on creating products that can be easily incorporated into everyday routines rather than targeting only fitness enthusiasts.

Expansion Plans After Funding

The fresh capital will support expansion across Tier I and Tier II cities through retail partnerships with supermarket chains.

TruNativ also plans to strengthen its presence within hotels, restaurants, and catering businesses by integrating its products into hospitality experiences, conferences, and dining environments.

In addition, the company intends to expand its ingredients business, supplying nutrition solutions to consumer brands across India.

The Good Lab And Future Innovation

One of the company’s key initiatives is the launch of The Good Lab, a dedicated innovation and research center in Mumbai.

The facility will support product development across nutrition categories and help accelerate the creation of new offerings in protein, gut health, sweeteners, and other nutritional segments.

The company is also exploring future products in emerging nutrition categories, including water soluble protein solutions.

A Growing Market Opportunity

India’s nutrition industry continues to attract attention from both entrepreneurs and investors.

As consumers become increasingly focused on preventive health, brands that can deliver science backed, convenient, and accessible nutrition products are expected to benefit from long term demand growth.

With fresh capital and a broader expansion strategy, TruNativ is positioning itself to play a larger role in shaping India’s evolving nutrition landscape.
