Wispr Flow Raises $280 Million In Series B Funding

San Francisco based voice AI startup Wispr Flow has raised $280 million in a Series B funding round led by Menlo Ventures, bringing the company’s valuation to $2 billion.

Existing investors including Notable Capital, NEA, Neo Ventures and 8VC participated in the round. New investors include Acrew, Forerunner, Goodwater and Peak XV.

The latest funding takes Wispr Flow’s total capital raised to $361 million.

Valuation Nearly Triples In Less Than A Year

The latest round marks a significant increase in Wispr Flow’s valuation.

The company had raised $25 million at a $700 million valuation less than a year ago. Its valuation has now reached $2 billion following the latest funding round.

The sharp increase highlights growing investor interest in voice based AI applications for workplace productivity.

Why This News Matters

Voice AI is increasingly moving beyond basic transcription and dictation.

Wispr Flow is positioning its technology as a way for users to write and complete workplace tasks using voice. The company is also expanding into meeting notes and other workplace applications.

This broader approach could make voice an increasingly important interface for workplace software.

What Wispr Flow Does

Founded by Tanay Kothari, Wispr Flow develops AI powered speech to text software designed for workplace use.

The platform allows users to use their voice to write and perform tasks that would traditionally require typing.

Wispr Flow said its platform is currently used by more than 10,000 businesses.

Canto And The Push For Better Speech Recognition

Alongside the funding announcement, Wispr Flow has introduced Canto, its proprietary speech recognition model.

The model is designed to improve speech recognition accuracy in difficult environments.

The development reflects the company’s focus on improving the underlying speech technology while expanding the number of workplace applications that can be powered through voice.

India Emerges As A Major Market

India has also become an important market for Wispr Flow.

Founder Tanay Kothari previously said India is the company’s second largest market in terms of both users and paying subscribers.

The company’s traction in India adds another dimension to its international expansion as it builds a workplace focused voice AI platform.

What Comes Next For Wispr Flow

Wispr Flow plans to use the new capital to expand its product capabilities and speech AI technology.

Its move into meeting notes and other workplace applications suggests the company is looking to build a broader voice based productivity platform rather than remain focused only on dictation.

The $2 billion valuation puts Wispr Flow among the more closely watched voice AI startups as businesses continue exploring new ways to interact with AI.
