Bengaluru based deeptech startup eNLife Research has raised Rs 6 crore in seed funding led by Piper Serica VC Fund. The investment will help the company build and clinically validate its blood based biomarker platform, strengthen its research and development team, and advance its first diagnostic assay toward clinical grade validation.
Alzheimer’s disease is often diagnosed only after symptoms become visible, limiting the effectiveness of available treatment options. A faster, simpler, and more affordable diagnostic approach could significantly improve patient outcomes by enabling intervention at much earlier stages.
Founded in 2025 by Deepak Kumaran Nair, Jojo Jacob, and Anish Mathew, eNLife Research is developing an AI powered blood test designed to detect Alzheimer’s disease years before clinical symptoms appear.
The platform studies disease related biomarkers and uses artificial intelligence to identify early signs of neurodegeneration. The company aims to make the test available through routine diagnostic centres with results expected within two to five hours.
Current diagnostic methods such as PET scans, MRI scans, and cerebrospinal fluid analysis can be costly or invasive. eNLife aims to provide a simpler blood based alternative that improves accessibility while supporting earlier diagnosis.
The company is also working on next generation assays capable of monitoring up to 100 biological markers linked to dementia and other neurodegenerative conditions.
eNLife is collaborating with researchers associated with the Indian Institute of Science, the National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences, the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research Hyderabad, and the Centre for Brain Research in Bengaluru.
These collaborations are helping the company develop biomarker datasets built around Indian genetic and lifestyle risk profiles.
The startup plans to begin filing patents over the next nine to eighteen months covering biomarker binders, diagnostic assays, and its detection platform as it advances toward clinical validation.
