The Antariksh Venture Capital Fund has made its first investment by deploying Rs 60 crore into Hyderabad based Dhruva Space. The fund is India’s dedicated spacetech investment vehicle with a total corpus of Rs 1600 crore. It is anchored by IN SPACE and managed by SIDBI Venture Capital Limited with the objective of supporting space technology startups across different stages of growth.
The investment represents an important milestone for India’s private space ecosystem. Dedicated institutional capital can help space startups scale faster, commercialise advanced technologies, and strengthen the country’s position in the global space industry.
Dhruva Space is a full stack space engineering company that develops satellite platforms, space infrastructure, mission services, and engineering solutions for commercial and strategic customers. The company has positioned itself as one of India’s emerging private space technology players.
Following this investment, Dhruva Space’s ongoing Pre Series B funding round has reached Rs 275 crore, including Rs 150 crore in equity and Rs 125 crore in debt financing.
The company also has an order book exceeding Rs 500 crore across satellite platforms, space infrastructure, mission services, and national strategic programmes, reflecting growing demand for its capabilities.
The newly raised capital will help Dhruva Space expand its satellite manufacturing capacity, build additional space infrastructure, advance critical technologies, and execute customer programmes across domestic as well as international markets.
As global demand for space based solutions continues to grow, investments like this could strengthen India’s position as a competitive destination for satellite manufacturing and commercial space technologies while supporting the country’s long term space ambitions.
