In a significant push for India’s EV ecosystem, deep tech startup Vecmocon has raised over $18 million in its Series A funding round led by Tiger Global, with participation from Blume Ventures, Ather Energy, and Aavishkaar Capital.
The Delhi-based company builds critical software and hardware infrastructure for electric vehicles (EVs), focusing on battery management systems (BMS), vehicle intelligence modules, and embedded software.
This funding marks a crucial milestone in boosting the quality, safety, and reliability of EVs in India.
Vecmocon, an IIT Delhi and ISB-incubated startup, has created a platform that enables EV OEMs to build smarter, safer, and more connected vehicles.
Its flagship products—including BMS and vehicle intelligence modules—have already been adopted by over 50 original equipment manufacturers.
With real-time data analytics, diagnostics, and predictive maintenance capabilities, Vecmocon addresses the fundamental issues of low reliability and high operational costs in electric two-wheelers and three-wheelers.
With this $18 million boost, Vecmocon aims to scale its team across engineering, product development, and customer success while investing in R&D to enhance its tech stack.
The company plans to expand internationally, starting with Southeast Asia. Aavishkaar Capital’s recent contribution of $8.7 million highlights growing investor confidence in the startup’s ability to solve India’s EV reliability problem at scale.
According to co-founder and CEO Puneet Kumar, this investment will help Vecmocon “set new benchmarks for EV safety and intelligence.”
By addressing critical gaps in EV intelligence and battery management, it aligns with the nation’s clean energy goals and bolsters the push for safer and more dependable EVs.
