A Gurugram-based startup founded in 2024, Sychedelic has developed what they claim to be India’s first smart headphones that go beyond audio playback—they’re designed to improve sleep, enhance focus, support deep rest, and reduce anxiety by combining biometric sensors, AI algorithms and non-invasive neuromodulation (electrical/neurological stimulation).
The headphones track signals from your body, like your heart rate and stress level, using built-in sensors.
This information is then sent to an AI system that figures out what you need most at that moment: better sleep, more focus, or relaxation.
Based on that, the headphones play specific sounds and use gentle electrical pulses to help your brain calm down or concentrate better.
In tests with over 600 people, about 92% said they slept better or were able to focus more after using the device regularly.
According to the company, over 600 users were tested and 92% reported improved sleep or sharper focus after repeated use.
The birth of Sychedelic came from a very personal place: Ria Rustagi lost her sister, Pankhuri, to a brain infection.
This made her take a personal journey: she is determined to make neuroscience accessible to everyone, even beyond labs and hospitals and promote mental health to the fullest.
She holds a Bachelor’s in Electronics and Communication Engineering and earned a Master’s degree from Nanyang Technological University (Singapore) and the Technical University of Munich (Germany).
Bhavya Madan is the co-founder and Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Sychedelic, with expertise in hardware design and neurostimulation. He leads the product and technology vision at Sychedelic.
He studied engineering at Jaypee Institute of Information Technology (Noida) and later earned a Master’s degree in Human-Computer Interface and Artificial Intelligence from the University of Passau, Germany. Bhavya has a strong background in hardware design, embedded systems, and neurostimulation technologies.
Together, they started Sychedelic.
When Sychedelic launched its product in August 2025, it already had over 600 users in pilot trials and claimed around 92% reported improvement in sleep or focus.
The startup reported about 30% month-on-month growth in sales. They also signalled plans for international expansion (e.g., USA) as part of their growth strategy.
Instead of just playing music or tracking your sleep and stress levels, Sychedelic’s smart headphones actually help improve your mental state in real time.
So instead of just tracking your stress or sleep like a smartwatch, it actively helps you fix it. That’s what makes it stand out.
