Drone logistics startup Skye Air Mobility has raised 9 million dollars in a Series B funding round led by IAN Alpha Fund.
The round also saw participation from AVNM Ventures, Faad Capital, Bajaj Capital, and other investors.
The new capital will help the company expand its drone delivery network and strengthen its technology infrastructure.
Last mile logistics continues to be one of the most complex challenges in modern supply chains.
Urban congestion, rising delivery expectations, and sustainability concerns are pushing companies to explore new delivery models.
Autonomous drone delivery has been widely discussed as a potential solution, but real world large scale deployments have remained limited.
Skye Air Mobility is positioning itself as one of the companies attempting to turn that vision into operational infrastructure.
Founded by Ankit Kumar, the company is building a hyperlocal drone delivery network designed for dense urban environments.
Its platform combines autonomous drones, intelligent airspace management systems, and ground based logistics infrastructure.
The drones are designed to carry payloads of up to 10 kilograms, enabling use cases across ecommerce deliveries, pharmaceuticals, and industrial supply chains.
A key part of Skye Air’s model is its network architecture.
The company uses what it calls a hub pod walker system.
This connects aerial drone routes with ground delivery infrastructure to support high volume logistics operations in complex urban areas.
The system is designed specifically for Indian cities where traffic density and delivery demand create unique operational challenges.
The company says it has already completed more than 3.6 million autonomous deliveries over the last two years.
According to the startup, these operations have also helped eliminate more than 1,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions.
Skye Air currently works with enterprise customers across ecommerce, quick commerce, healthcare, and broader supply chain sectors.
With the new funding, the company plans to expand its operations beyond Delhi NCR.
Target cities include Bengaluru, Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad, and Kolkata.
The company also plans to invest further in its technology stack including drone operations, airspace management systems, and autonomous logistics capabilities.
As drone delivery infrastructure evolves, companies like Skye Air are attempting to build the operational networks that could define the next generation of urban logistics.
