Zerodha co-founder and popular podcaster, Nikhil Kamath, has invested in One Hand Clap, a creative agency started by former AIB heads Aakash Shah and Naveed Manakkodan.
This investment appears to be more personal than purely professional. Reflecting this sentiment, One Hand Clap shared a heartfelt message on LinkedIn:
“No matter how isolated you are and how lonely you feel, if you do your work truly and conscientiously, unknown friends will come and seek you.” – Carl Jung
Nikhil is one such friend. Thank you for seeking us out. Here’s to the next decade of building killer stuff together.
With Kamath’s backing, the agency seems poised to push the boundaries of creative storytelling even further.
One Hand Clap is a creative agency founded in 2019 with a simple but strong goal — to make ads that are fresh, unique, and full of creativity. The team wanted every project to have heart, soul, and originality — and they’ve stuck to that vision.
Some of their standout work includes:
Netflix Playback 2024 – A fun and clever campaign that brought together characters from popular shows like Heeramandi, Laapataa Ladies, and Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives.
Animal for a Reason – A hilarious parody where M.S. Dhoni spoofs the film Animal in an ad for Emotor, directed by Sanjeev Reddy Vanga.
The Pathaan Campaign – A high-energy campaign starring Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, and Bhuvan Bam that created major buzz online.
In a chat with Adgully, co-founder Aakash Shah talked about how the name “One Hand Clap” came to be. It started as a silly inside joke and stuck around. The name means exactly what it says —
Aakash could clap with one hand. That’s It.
With their quirky ideas and bold storytelling, One Hand Clap is shaking things up in the world of advertising — and having fun while doing it.
During and after the COVID era, we witnessed an exponential rise in influencers. Content is now being generated every other minute.
What was once meant to be a space for creative expression has become overcrowded, with little to no differentiation between creators. Everyone is following the same trends, using the same formats. Cracking the algorithm has become the new obsession.
But wasn’t the whole point of content creation to express one’s creativity?
In this cluttered landscape, One Clap Hand stands out.
It isn’t trying to “crack the algorithm.”
It focuses on delivering funny, quirky, and truly creative content—
Something that’s desperately needed to bring freshness back into the space.
