Prime Minister Narendra Modi opened the India Mobile Congress (IMC) 2025 and talked about how India moved from 2G to 5G technology.
He said that now the cost of 1GB of mobile data is even less than a cup of tea. Modi also praised India’s startups, digital payments, and new technology in areas like education and healthcare, showing how technology is helping everyone.
AI company Anthropic, which makes the Claude AI model, will open its first India office in Bengaluru in early 2026. The company plans to hire local engineers and AI experts, improve Claude’s ability to understand Indian languages, and create AI tools for education, healthcare, and farming. This expansion is part of Anthropic’s plan to expand globally and make AI accessible to local communities.
The Ministry of Electronics and IT (MeitY) has received proposals under a scheme to make more electronic components in India. The plan is to reduce dependence on imports, create jobs, and make India stronger in electronics manufacturing. This will help startups and companies produce high-tech equipment locally and support India’s goal of becoming a hub for technology and innovation.
