Surat-based agritech startup GROWiT has secured $3 million in funding, led by GVFL (Gujarat Venture Finance Limited), with participation from investors including KITVEN and other HNIs. Founded in 2020 by Saurabh Agarwal, GROWiT focuses on protective farming products such as mulch films, crop covers, and shade nets, which help reduce crop damage and improve yield.

This funding will help the startup expand operations, invest in R&D, and strengthen its farmer education initiatives to drive wider adoption of sustainable farming practices.

Boosting Sustainable Farming through Technology

GROWiT’s flagship products are aimed at tackling key agricultural challenges such as water conservation, weed control, and soil health. Protective farming — using physical barriers like mulch films and crop covers — not only enhances crop productivity but also reduces the dependency on chemical interventions. The startup has already impacted over 35,000 farmers and plans to reach over 1 lakh in the next phase.

With the new capital infusion, GROWiT aims to set up a direct-to-farmer distribution network, launch new product lines, and grow its pan-India footprint.

Farmer Education and Market Expansion

Beyond product development, GROWiT is investing in farmer education programs, including demo farms and on-ground advisory teams. These initiatives are designed to bridge the gap between innovation and field adoption, especially for small and marginal farmers.

Founder Saurabh Agarwal emphasizes the importance of empowering farmers with not just tools, but also knowledge. The funding will also be used to develop digital platforms for real-time agricultural support and advisory services.

GROWiT’s Agritech Push Could Help Modernize Indian Farming

As India’s agritech sector continues to attract investor attention, GROWiT’s latest $3 million raise underscores the potential of protective farming solutions in transforming agricultural outcomes. With rising climate unpredictability and a push for sustainable practices, innovations like GROWiT’s could help modernize Indian agriculture and secure better returns for farmers.
