For hundreds of aspiring biotech founders across India, access to advanced labs and mentorship often feels like a distant dream. The new partnership between DPIIT and Thermo Fisher Scientific is set to change that.
Through the BioVerse platform, over 500 startups will now get the chance to not only test their ideas in world-class facilities but also receive expert guidance to turn those ideas into real solutions. The initiative promises to be a bridge between young innovators and the resources they need to succeed.
Instead of just providing financial aid, BioVerse is designed to hand startups something far more valuable — hands-on mentorship, coaching, and industry connections.
About 100 of the most promising startups will get intensive support through the BioVerse Challenge, while another 400 will benefit from the Mentors Circle. And even after the program ends, the Alumni Network will keep supporting these entrepreneurs, ensuring they are never left navigating the tough biotech landscape alone.
The partnership also reflects a broader vision: positioning India as a global hub for biotech innovation.
But at its core, it’s about people: young scientists who want to cure diseases, entrepreneurs working on sustainable agriculture, or innovators looking at cleaner technologies. By lowering entry barriers like lab costs and limited resources, this program gives them a fair shot at building solutions that could touch millions of lives. In many ways, it’s not just about startups; it’s about shaping the future of healthcare, food, and the environment for everyone.
