Why In The News?

The government is doubling down on helping Indian tech, space, and telecom startups get more than just exposure—they’re building real connections.

At IISF 2025, startups will be able to meet industry veterans who can mentor them and also get linked to potential business partners.

According to MoS Jitendra Singh, this kind of hand-holding is essential: startups can’t really make it if they’re left to fend for themselves.

Building a Stronger Innovation & Startup Ecosystem

India’s startup landscape has grown rapidly over the last decade, crossing 1.5 lakh recognised startups and generating millions of jobs.

IISF 2025 aims to push this growth further by creating a hands-on, innovation-heavy environment that includes startup pavilions, deep-tech exhibits, student innovation zones, and large-scale networking setups.

Beyond the event, the government is also expanding grassroots scientific engagement: from district-level science communication hubs to mobile science exhibitions and youth ambassador programs designed to spark curiosity and innovation among students across the country.

A Launchpad for Global Collaboration and Self-Reliant Growth

A major focus of IISF 2025 is strengthening India’s global innovation links.

Through fellowship programmes designed to bring back Indian-origin scientists and encourage long-term research collaborations, the government hopes to add international expertise to India’s R&D ecosystem.

The festival’s theme, “Vigyan Se Samriddhi,” highlights a push toward scientific and technological self-reliance.

With leading institutions across engineering, management, and pure sciences participating, IISF 2025 is shaping up to be a major platform for research-driven entrepreneurship, next-generation tech development, and nationwide innovation outreach.
